LII – creating systems, one after another

For the LII, being democratic types, and valuing Ne and Fe, just as with all alpha types, free information is among their most sacred ideas. Together with being an NT, information is what makes up the center of this type. rather than just being the means to a greater end. It’s not just that information is important to them, but that the information is free and accessible. They are generally distrustful towards people that hide too much, expecting the information to be out there for them to take in and go through.

The leading function for the LII is Ti. Because of this, one of their most prominent aspects is their focus on accuracy. It also makes their thought process very systematic and classifying. They analyze all incoming data and puts it into one unified system, a blueprint, of what the world looks like. New information is immediately put into this blueprint, and at its worst, it also makes them prone to dismiss anything that doesn’t fit. Together with Ne, their creative function, which is focused on understanding the essence of a concept or idea, or understanding the potential of something for that matter, the LII puts these concepts and ideas in perspective to each other, creating a bigger entity of them, a systematic approach. An ideology. Looking at a system, either creating or optimizing, they use their auxiliary function as a great tool to explore every aspect of it, to understand the deeper parts, get to its essence, and then improve it. This makes them highly theoretical.

The mobilizing function of the LII is Si. Because of this, they’re highly appreciative of an environment where they can enjoy the present and stay comfortable, wind down and enjoy themselves. It’s in an environment like this that they excel, not having external pressure stressing them. However, when they try to recreate this environment, it falls shot, and they can only apply it according to external standards and norms. To adapt and specify it to the situation they are in, they need help from someone else. When they do get this help, it activates and motivates them. Something else that they seek help with, the other part of their super-id, is Fe. They are bad at expressing themselves and assessing the emotional atmosphere of a situation, often making them blurt out things that aren’t appropriate or remain withdrawn for fear doing exactly that. With the help of someone with stronger Fe, they can leave this to them, and focus on where their strength lies, in creating the systems needed for Fe to thrive. It’s also this function that motivates much of the underlying goals of Ti, creating a system in which Fe can be freely expressed.

Another reason to why they excel in a comfortable, low-stress situations, is their point of least resistance: Se. Since they are almost unable to process this type of information, they try to avoid situations with it as much as possible. When it comes to things related to force, power of will, or invading their personal space, they either outright ignore it and shut down as a response, or deflect it to one of their stronger functions, often their leading one (since that’s where they’re the most comfortable), paying attention to the rational rules of logic rather than sheer willpower, creating a system that can deal with this for them, so they don’t have to dive into Se themselves. Or to their demonstrative function, Ni, picking out the right timing so they don’t have to rely on an application of force. Fi, together with Se making up the super-ego of the LII, is something they can do. They are, when the situation demands it, able to fake it. Since Fi essentially is Ti but applied to relationships and the attitude towards people instead of objects. However, because of the blocking of Ti, it’s frustrating for them however, blocking the use of Ti.

The unconscious but strong functions in LII, Ni and Te, makes up the id. Their ignored function, Te, is dismissed. The external characteristics of an object, how is works in reality, is of less importance, taking a back seat compared to the relationship between those objects and how they, according to that relationship, can be categorized. This can often make the LII stuck in theory and their thoughts, rather than applying it in reality. Their demonstrative function, on a more positive note, is Ni. The LII is very able to deal with anything related to symbolism, analyzing trends, and understanding how things develop over time. This is used in the service of Ti though, and is of secondary importance to Ne.

When it comes to romance style, their approach is called “infantile”, which refers to them seeking help with Si from their partner. They have a light and fun attitude towards love, trying to attract people through being fun and unusual. In their partner, they seek for someone who can put up with them, on a both emotional and intellectual level, someone who can provide and cover for them in areas of “life”.

As mentioned earlier, the LII is highly systematic. The access to information, about people, projects, theories or objects, is essential to them. Since they are both merry and judicious, both holding a certain “light” attitude, they are often described as being childlike. They, even though they are classifying and systematic, resent an external hierarchical structure, highly preferring an environment where they are free to talk to and receive information from anyone. They are at their best when they are free to explore and create systems and theories of any kind, and at their worst when this is repressed.
