Activity

The activity intertype relationship is between two types of the same quadra, that shares introversion or extraversion. So for example, the “activating type” of an INFJ would be an ISTP.

This is a positive and often fun relationship, since the activity partner, just as the name indicates, has an activating influence. This is because their dominant function, what they live and breathe, is my mobilizing function, or hidden agenda. When this function is used, it works as a motivating factor. So when someone else helps us with it, it pushes us towards action, in activates us. However, when this function is overstimulated, which it gets when another person would use it all the time, we grow tired of it. Because of this, an activity relationship is fun but tiring.

When it comes to our dual-seeking function, they still have the ability to provide it without much effort, but it’s not as natural as providing their dominant function. The same thing goes for how they deal with our point of least resistance, they are able to, but since it’s their ignoring function, they tend to avoid this as well.

However, while not being complementary in the same way as duality is, they are still in the same quadra and has the romance style we prefer. They also share introversion or extraversion with us, resulting in a similar style of communication and cognition, so people of this type are usually easy to initiate a relationship with, and is highly energising. The downside, as I stated before, is that they are tiring in the long run.

This relationship is between:
ENFP – ESTJ
INFP – ISTJ
ISFP – INTJ
ESFP – ENTJ
ISTP – INFJ
ESTP – ENFJ
INTP – ISFJ
ENTP – ESFJ
